Porcelain and cantaloupe

This collection of almost 30 years oil painted works is inspired by classical art in chiaroscuro composition, such as the works of Rembrandt, Chardin or Leffel. It allowed the artist to hone his sense of observing textures in everyday objects; glass, wood, rattan, fabrics, metals. As well as the matt and luster of various fruits and vegetables.

Undeniably, this chiaroscuro composition of light requires control over variations from shadow to light, certainly the best school.

The rendering chosen by the artist is still the realism without harshness, but with flexibility and gesture.
