The landscapes oil paintings are inspired by Impressionist art, a subtle rendering with an easy-going brushstroke.

They represent scenes with a creative will using the changing palette light of different seasons.

The paintings alternate from panoramic scenes to intimate places, where the subject is observed from a distance as well as nearby. These paintings exclude any human presence to allow the observer a full feeling of nature.

These works take pleasure in conceiving a complementary chromatic composition, where warm and cold colors bring a dynamic to the painting. Occasionally the artist will create a rather tonalist work by a choice of analogous chromatic composition.

The landscape being a rather broad subject gives the artist a great choice of variations.

Cristobal finds his inspiration in his many outdoor hikes in his Charlevoix region and elsewhere.
